Without these changes, tox gives multiple failures.

I have another PR on top of this to revise the summary code, so it'd be cool if this could be merged so we can look at that one. thanks!

It is mentioned in the description - which is easy to miss. Maybe there is a better way to refer people to the other repo.

ugh, yeah, that's difficult to spot when you have a local checkout.
