No, it has not been deprecated. That would imply some clear communication and deprecation warning output; neither of which currently exists for this. All have have done is make use_createrepo_c default to True.

createrepo is no longer part of fedora and we could clean up the code a bit

Fedora is hardly our only target, and it's not clear to me how much benefit this would really be for
us. The code works and change entails effort and risk.

That said, the writing is on the wall and I think it's fine to officially mark this deprecated. However, I would not rush to gut the code just because. The tool still exists and may still be in use. I would give this a good long grace period, esp since we don't have an especially visible way to issue warnings. I dunno how many admins are going to notice such things in kojid logs.
