Hi, this proposal is based on https://pagure.io/flock/issue/319 with the idea to create a video "Using cmake for RPM packaging". The video will demonstrate how to use cmake in MariaDB in order to create the package for mytop, related to MDEV-22552. The cmake options that are used will be explained and validated through the demo. Besides mytop packaging, if enough time is left, I will demonstrate how to get started with cmake in RPM.

This sounds like a great idea! Go ahead and produce the video- we can assist with editing and branding if you would like. Once it is all set, please share a link here and we can get it uploaded to the Fedora Youtube
Hello @anel before upload prepare video, I would like ask you some questions and give you suggestions about "Fedora Package guidelines".
Suggestions : Please make sure use our ""Fedora Package guidelines" about "c/c++" and also focus with "fedpkg" as well. If you follow new tools that would be awesome.
My only questions is : is this merged into mariadb upstream because ticket was not solved and I just want to clarify this as well.

Hi @thunderbirdtr, thanks for suggestions. I guess you are referring to this link, but the idea is to apply the patch and verify the results, which you find in our public Zulip stream. The patch is for the cmake/cpack, not related to the C/C++, if you have some guidelines for the cmake/cpack, please let me know and I can follow, or even better if you can review the patch before making the video, that would be great :). The results of the patch are planed to be verified with "rpm" only, but can try to take a look into "fedpkg" too. MDEV-22552 is not yet merged, was planned to be merged during flock. Will be merged soon. I will try to create soon some draft video and publish here in comments section, so we can discuss further about. Thanks @riecatnor too.
