  • All fields are required.
  1. Full Name

The idea would be to send these T-Shirts as recognition for contributions to Fedora CoreOS contributors, that would be mostly the folks in the Fedora CoreOS Working Group but also some key community members that help us with documentation, reporting bugs and also talking at conferences
  4. Event Date
  5. Event Location

It is great to recognize contributions. The challenge that I see here is that it singles out a a subset of contributors. Usually, swag is delivered for special activities such as participating at an event. Also, contributing to a Fedora objective seems like a good condition but CoreOS does not seem to be part of an objective right now.

@till I agree that Objectives are a good thing to center this around, although I think we also should have some flexibility for other ideas as well.

@cverna What's the status of https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/2516?

The issue I see is that the criteria for what to approve are unclear and to me it is not clear why to specifically sponsor the CoreOS shirts. Having them added to the cool stuff store, then giving out coupons based on criteria to be discussed in #314 for all contributors and then allow the recipients to choose the regular Fedora shirt or the CoreOS shirt could be a possible alternative for this specific case.

Updated the ticket there :-) https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/2516?#comment-777654

I don't have a specific opinion or even good knowledge about the logistic :-) and I am open to any way to make this work :-)

My idea behind this requests is that we have a lot of great people that are spending a lot of effort and time building, documenting, advocating, helping planning and also just giving feedback about Fedora CoreOS. I would like to recognize and thanks these people and also build a stronger sense of belonging to the Fedora community and in particular the CoreOS effort. I see this shirt has a "wearable" version of a Fedora Badge and a simple way to say "Thanks for contributing to Fedora CoreOS". The same way we reward people for contribution by awarding specific badges.

Not sure if that helps explaining the request or not :-)

How about we do it as a reward for participating in the upcoming test week?

This sounds lovely to me
+1

Hi folks - I noticed a comment on the corresponding design ticket [0] wrt to funding, so I checked in and confirmed that Red Hat OSPO will be funding these CoreOS contributor tee shirts.

Thank you for filing the ticket @cverna

Some additional thoughts: while I don't think we can fund tee shirts for every single thing in Fedora, we should be able to fund some. Especially when they take the time to make the request and the team is so active. The cost to do this would have been around $1000, which is not that much in the scope of Fedoras budget, with a decent payoff, imo. If we were to ever get too many requests because there are so many things that are active, that is a good problem to have, and we could probably make a stronger case to get more support from Red Hat OSPO.

Here's some ideas about to handle it that I would like to discuss with the Committee
- Designate a certain amount of funds we want to use per year on team tee shirt requests and it is first come, first serve, until the funds run out
- Have an agreed upon baseline of activity in order for a group to make a team tee shirt request
