The event will occur at the University of Macedonia (UoM) in Thessaloniki Greece within the University's Open Source Community.
As soon as it ends, I will write a report on my blog and the Open Source UoM blog.
+1 for this event. Do you have a plan for promoting it? Also, who doesn't want cake? :)
Promote it for sure. I will write a pre and post event article both to https://opensource.uom.gr (the site of the University's Open Source Community) and my blog https://eiosifidis.blogspot.com. Also will promote it on University's social media and mine.
Here is an older release party I organized (pro COVID era). https://eiosifidis.blogspot.com/2010/06/fedora-13-release-party.html Here you can see the cake ;-)
I'll try to make it better this time.

+1 to supporting the event. Thanks for coming back to organize another one @iosifidis.
This ticket is triaged as next meeting. However, I am unsure whether we could get swag dispatched in time to make it for the event date. I am checking on this, but In the event we cannot get it there in time, I am considering two possible options:
next meeting
@iosifidis, per our guidelines for small events, could you also help us by answering these questions:
@jflory7 thank you.
Regarding the date, maybe it's better to postpone the event. The new possible (and better) date is November 12 or 13. It'll be a week after the virtual release party (which I also promote inside the University's Open Source Community). What do you think?
Regarding the questions:
@iosifidis These new dates look good and I think we can get a swag package to you by those dates! We are shipping from inside the EU (from Brno, CZ I think), so theoretically it is possible. We can take a vote as a Committee in our Tuesday, 25 October meeting and I can enter the swag order that day.
Also, since you are in the EU and you have been running events since a long time, we have Fedora Ambassador polo shirts with the Fedora Classic logo. For $REASONS, we can't ship them outside of the EU. There are men's sizes in S, M, L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL, and women's sizes in S and M. Would you like any of these Ambassador polo shirts, and if yes, about how many?
$REASONS
Thanks for answering the questions.
Thanks for everything. Please inform me how to proceed with the swag right after your meeting.
Regarding the ambassador polo shirts, 3XL is the perfect size for me. Please let me know if those are for free and if I can get more than one (let's say two). I saw on the wiki that I have to file a ticket. Please also let me know about this procedure. Thanks in advance.
@iosifidis Yes! We will need you to open a swag shipment ticket per the swag shipment process. Although the Mindshare Committee has not made a decision on this ticket yet, I will ask you to go ahead and open a ticket so we can move faster to get a shipment to you.
I'll copy the relevant instructions here from the docs page:
If you’ve asked for swag, please submit a swag-shipment request in the Fedora Budget Pagure using the provided template. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping as swag is generally not stored in your country. Most of the delay is to allow time for customs processing in your country, not shipping.
…which I am hoping we can avoid too much customs trouble since this is inside the EU.
On the Ambassador polos, we can send you a few! We could send five or ten in a few different sizes if you can help us distribute them to the right people.
@jflory7 thank you. I created the issue and I asked for polo shirts there. I hope I did it right. It is my first time doing this procedure. Thanks for your help
+1
I thought I already commented, but apparently I didn't.
Discussed in 2022-10-25 meeting.
Hi @iosifidis, this event is approved! I will follow up in the fedora-budget ticket on getting your swag package out.
All the best on planning the release party! Feel free to tag us on social media and we can boost posts about the event. Don't forget to take pictures for an event report after the event to complete the reimbursement process.
Here is an excerpt from the small events docs page on event reports:
Fedora Events are often featured in the Mindshare newsletters and hence the event report holds a significant amount of importance. The report is a general summary of an event which gives the project an idea of what’s going on and reports on successes as well as lessons learned. Reporting can be done in many ways. Here’s are a couple of commonly used methods for sharing the event report with the community: Community Blog (a.k.a. CommBlog): You can sign into the Community Blog WordPress site using your FAS account credentials. Once inside, you can create a new post where you can draft your experience. After you are done, follow the steps in the guide on publishing articles on the CommBlog. Here’s an example of a Fedora 27 release party blog post. Your own Blog: If you have been maintaining your own blog, you can post it there as well. To extend the reach of audience, You may syndicate your blog to Fedora Planet. I managed to add my blog to the planet (I have to make a test though). I am going to ask the Open Source Community to tag/mention etc Fedora social. They are going to write an article too.
Two updates to add here:

Or RC images from: https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/branched/latest-Fedora-37/compos= e/ https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Summary (as those are more updated then the Beta images)

Thanks. Do you think that it's better to postpone for a week or proceed with the dates of November 12 or 13?
Guess it depends on if you want the release at the release party or not ;) Maybe 19-20th is better as the release is hopefully out then? but that's up to you greece people to decide :)

I agree that it is up to you and the local community whether having an official release available is a requirement. However, I think it can also be helpful for attendees to have the dates down and stick to them. Since we still don't know the details about this security vulnerability, there is a chance that there could be a longer delay. I really hope not, but the fact is that we don't have a lot of information to go off of at this point.
The global, virtual party is continuing with the originally scheduled dates ahead of the final release. It is the season for a release, so we will celebrate the last six months of Fedora work regardless of whether we have a final ISO available yet.
Here is the report https://eiosifidis.blogspot.com/2022/12/fedora-37-release-party-aftermath.html
I guess you can see it on planet fedora too.
