Hi @aolsystems

My understanding is that we have only 3 spare tickets for the event. I believe @azneita has found two others to attend with him who are local. I am trying to understand what expertise you bring to fly you in from AU for the event.

Also, what is the "FAS ID of Ambassadors" list?

Hello @bex
Good day!
FAS ID: aolsystems
I am currently involve in day to day sysadmin works in operatios and development of Oracle Public Cloud Infrasturcture.
I had worked and collaborate with other fedora ambassadors like @azneita @tuanta in events way back then.
I hope this event will help me catch again with the team and start what i had left before.

Thanks!

Hey @aolsystems

I concur with @bex if there are local volunteers who can help out with the event, I would like to incline to -1 to your request unless you have a specific set of skill/expertise that you can bring in with your presence. Also, I would like to hear if @azneita @tuanta can put some light on how they are planning the whole event and if they need some swags/budget

I feel like I'm missing pieces of the puzzle here...

I don't know much about the event or the participants, but looking at it from a purely economical standpoint, I'm not sure it's a good idea to spend $1000 on an event to get one person to an event with only 100 participants, especially when we apparently have local participants that are able to handle the event.

Can you provide justification for why it makes sense to spend this much money getting you to this event? That's the piece I feel like I'm missing...

omitting this ticket from the meeting unless raised in open floor as unanswered questions appear from committee members above.

I definitely appreciate wanting to catch up with people and wanting to get back into being involved. That's awesome. I'm just not sure this event/travel is the best way to do that.

@sumantrom : I opened a swag request for this event - https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/102. Let's discuss event ideas there.

Going by the comments, this request can now be closed.

@azneita I've commented on #102 and we are waiting for more of the mindshare to put their thoughts and views in the ticket.

This ticket is being closed until the reporter provides us with more insight/plan.
