Installing on some systems (e.g. FreeBSD) fail because the -D parameter of install(1) is a GNU extension.

I checked the wrong directory and failed to see that this problem no longuer exists!

Actually, this has been fixed in the master branch only, I haven't backported it for stable branches. If you need the fix in 0.7.x branch, I can backport it.

I don't ''need'' it but fixing this would be great ;-)

Should be fixed now in git in 0.7.x branch as well.
