liblfds is only supported on 64-bit intel. Perhaps there is another lock free library that has much broader platform support.

Same as #40: lfds works on ARM, MIPS and soon AARCH64. I think we don't need to pursue this.

Closing this as I don't think it's worth our time to pursue, lfds works right now.
