I've sponsored them both into the packager group.

They may need to logout and login to src.fedoraproject.org, but then you should be able to add them to those packages.

Have the logged into src.fedoraproject.org since the change? Group memberships are refreshed on login... and if they have never logged in, likely they don't exist at all yet.
