#644 Request add lichliu to the packager group and co-maintainer for dmidecode package
Closed: accepted by jonathanspw. Opened by lichliu.

Hi,

I'm Lichen and I'm maintaining dmidecode for RHEL now.
My teammate @coiby and I noticed that the maintainer of dmidecode @aarapov is inactive.
I hope I can be added to the packager group and co-maintainer of dmidecode.

Thanks,
Lichen

To add some context to this request, @lichliu and @coiby are both Red Hat associates and kernel developers, and maintainers of dmidecode in RHEL since around 2021. Although they have very little history in Fedora, they have a long(er) history of RHEL packaging.

I will sponsor one or both into the packagers group this week.

+1 and thanks, Richard

Thank you, Richard! Btw, it seems pagure.io doesn't contain the data including the activity data from src.fedoraproject.org because I'm already in the packager group and I've already been maintaining 3 Fedora packages including dmidecode.

I have sponsored @lichliu. @coiby is already a packager.

Non-responsive maintainer check for @aarapov

FYI, @aarapov has responded to #1695. And it reminds me I took over Fedora’s dmidecode from @aarapov on May 2021 but hasn't been set as main admin (I guess that's reason why Inactive packager process is triggered). Would it be best way forward if we simply add @lichliu to the packager group and set him as main admin?

dmidecode is now no longer maintained by @aarapov as of yesterday night ... But now it's maintained by @jonathanspw instead, so I guess you'll have to ask him.

@rjones Thanks for your information, I think co-maintainer is enough to maintain this package.

Seems like everything that needed to be done here is done. @coiby and @lichliu are both maintainers on dmidecode.

I'm going to close this.
