Hi,
I am currently in contact with Jun Aruga @jaruga in order to (again) become co-maintainer of a few packages (htslib, samtools and bcftools).
I was the initial packager of samtools, but all of my group memberships - and most importantly my packager status - has been removed due to inactivity.
Is it possible to have the this status restored?
Thanks
Yep. We need to confirm that you are you.
Can you do:
ssh ron@fedorapeople.org touch ~/account-validation-20260125
[ron@orion ~]$ ssh ron@fedorapeople.org touch ~/account-validation-20260125 Connection closed by 152.2.23.109 port 22

Ah sorry, since you were no longer in packager group you didn't have access. I've re-added you to another group so you should (in a few minutes) have access again.
Thanks, that works.
[ron@orion ~]$ ssh ron@fedorapeople.org "touch ~/account-validation-20260125" [ron@orion ~]$ ssh ron@fedorapeople.org "ls -l ~/account-validation-20260125" -rw-r--r--. 1 ron ron 0 Jan 25 18:07 /home/fedora/ron/account-validation-20260125
I've re-added you to the group.
You will need to logout and back on to src.fedoraproject.org in order to refresh your group membership.
Use your powers wisely!

Hi @kevin, I am trying to add the user ron as the access level: commit on the following page. However, I still see the error message "This user must be in one of the following groups to be allowed to be added to this project: packager" when trying to add the user. What's wrong?
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/htslib/adduser
It seems the user ron doesn't have the packager group on the groups page below. https://src.fedoraproject.org/user/ron/groups
As a reference, I can see the packager group from my groups page below. https://src.fedoraproject.org/user/jaruga/groups
This should cause the group memberships to get sync'd. In my experience, doing this in an incognito browser window works more reliably.
The incognito window did the trick. Thanks.
