#766 Requesting Sponsorship for rbpf in Rust
Opened by sveturi. Modified

RedHat ticket: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2467299

rbpf is a virtual machine and JIT compiler for eBPF programs. This package is needed as a dependency for aya-obj and aya, which are required for onboarding Azure Guest Proxy Agent to Fedora.

This package is needed as a build dependency for aya-obj, part of the dependency chain for onboarding the Azure Guest Proxy Agent (GPA) to Fedora.

This is a new package and I am requesting a sponsor.

Hi sveturi,

You've already opened a ticket to request sponsorship in https://pagure.io/packager-sponsors/issue/765; you only need to be sponsored once.

Hi @jcline,

Thank you for pointing out the sponsorship only needs to be done once. The sponsorship request that you pointed out will need to be closed since that package no longer needs to be published. I am reopening this issue so I can publish the package listed on this bug "rbpf".

Can you please take a look at this request again? I appreciate your help on this!

Hi sveturi,

I looked a the package review request, it seems all fine.

Have you read
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines and
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy ?

Please do two reviews of packages under
https://fedoraproject.org/PackageReviewStatus/reviewable.html.
(Don't pick any of the very complex ones.)

Hi @zbyszek ,

Yes, I have looked at both the guidelines pages that you shared, I also reviewed these two bugzilla requests:

  1. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2481458
  2. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2484338

Both these bugs have a detailed comment from me containing my findings, please take a look at this request when you get time!

Hello @zbyszek

Just checking in if you can help with the sponsorship request, I have already reviewed two packages as mentioned in the above comment.

Thanks for your help!
