#1331 License breakdown still required?
Opened a year ago by music. Modified a year ago

Before the guidelines around package licensing were rewritten for SPDX and largely transferred to https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/legal/, the packaging guidelines required packages with multiple licenses to contain a comment or file explaining the breakdown of which licenses applied to which files. A historical version of this section is available at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:LicensingGuidelines#Multiple_Licensing_Scenarios. Today, I can’t find this requirement documented anywhere.

Was this requirement intentionally dropped, or merely lost in the shuffle of reorganizing and rewriting documentation?

I don't think this was intentionally dropped ... maybe file a ticket against the Legal docs asking whether it was lost in the reorganization?

At least for Rust packages, we try to clearly document which files are covered by which license terms, in addition to documenting (programmatically) the licenses of all statically linked dependencies.
