As per https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/CryptoPolicies/#_new_crypto_libraries review of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2325519 would be helpful. Happy to patch so accepted choices of TLS certificates are used and send revisions upstream.
Could you point to any existing discussion with the crypto team for this or the other two tickets?
New crypto libraries must comply with the crypto policies to enter Fedora, unless an exception has been granted by Fedora packaging committee, after consulting with Fedora crypto team.
I am not an English native speaker, but as somebody who studied Latin in school, this sentence parses like this to me:
Are you saying that this library does not / cannot comply with 1. and hence you need an exception according to points 2. and 3.?
i think its more like, you must either satisfy 1, or go to the crypto team and escalate to the packaging commitee to request permission
