It won't do anything useful anyway.

It depends if anyone wants to read the output.
No output != empty output.

In this case the variant is not supposed to have a repo, it does not have one, and repoclosure only says that it can't find repomd.xml. It prints an error, but it is expected to fail.

I agree fully with lsedlar here. if the variant is empty it makes zero sense to run repoclosure
