Current logic for getting the version is to check if we're running from git checkout, in which case exact commit is included. Otherwise we check what python distribution is installed.
This only reports the version, and does not show any potentially backported patches. We should first try to get the version from rpm -q pungi, which would be more specific.
rpm -q pungi
