Some packages have:

Name: python-%{whatnot}

It would be nice to get that and use %{whatnot} across the spec instead of modname (except for chaneglog).

I might try to make that change, bot not sooner than Tuesday.

I think they're more pain than they are worth, but I guess that it's better to honour existing style when making changes.

Exactly that was my motivation.
