Much like with Blender a bunch of years back (#7265), it turns out the package repo for adobe-source-han-mono-fonts has had upstream source files accidentally committed into its git history, rather than uploaded to the lookaside cache. This has caused the repo's size to grow to 214MB. far beyond the expected/typical size of a package repo expected to contain only downstream packaging metadata.
I've already opened bug 2329655 to make the maintainer aware of the situation, but this is not something that can be corrected by a packager themselves. Administrative access is required to bypass the normal protections against rewriting git history in our package repos, in order to excise the unwanted files.
It's also been deemed necessary, in the past, to first get authorization from FESCO to modify the package repo's commit history. Quoting from fesco#1848, the ticket requesting approval to perform the work in #7265, @kellin wrote:
Per this comment we may not authorize removal of those tarballs without FESCO's approval..
When do you need this?
ASAP, but no particular rush/timeframe. It took over 2 years to get the Blender repo right. (I'm hoping this can go a bit quicker than that...)
When is this no longer needed or useful?
No expiration, this really needs to get done eventually.
If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?
The adobe-source-han-mono-fonts package repo will continue to require excessively large downloads for each checkout, wasting time, storage space, and bandwidth. While our infrastructure has been significantly upgraded since the Blender issue almost a decade ago, and is more able to handle the oversized repo without manifesting the build failures or timeouts that occurred in the past with these situations, it's still in the best interests of the project to get this cleaned up. The package repo's current size is larger than every other repo save one by an order of magnitude or more.

Sorry to be a pest, @patrikp , I'm just curious whether the tagged 'meeting' discussion ever occurred, for this ticket and #12488 ? It's been almost 3 months with no updates (from my perspective).
