#7812 re-assign all orphaned packages to co-maintainers where possible
Closed: Fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by till.

  • Describe the issue

At the last FESCo meeting we discussed the follow-up action for orphaned packages:
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/teams/fesco/fesco.2018-09-10-15.00.log.html#l-419

The next step would be to re-assign all currently orphaned packages to a co-maintainer if possible. I guess a variant of https://pagure.io/releng/blob/master/f/scripts/distgit/orphan-all-packages.py could be used for this, since this script usually re-assigns packages to other maintainer when orphaning packages of one maintainer.

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)

sooner than later.

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

A lot of orphaned packages stay unmaintained in Fedora.

I think we can close this, since the resolution [1] of fesco ticket 1970 make this ticket obsolete.
